SARA ROSE CHILDREN’S FOUNDATION

Be A HERO partners with Sara Rose Children’s Foundation by supporting their orphans through the Child Sponsorship Program, and raising funds for building projects.

The orphanage is named after Sara Rose, daughter of founders Pastor Edward and Barbra Mwansa. Sara died on July 18, 2003, the day after her birth. She was their fourth child who did not live long; one other passed away shortly after birth and two were stillborn. This experience with infant loss is not uncommon in Zambia. Sara means ‘mother of all nations.’ In remembrance of their daughter, this appropriate name was chosen for the children’s home.

The staff at Sara Rose are dedicated to improving the lives of orphaned children by lovingly attending to each child’s health and education and providing for physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs, to invest in future leaders of Zambia.

The goal is to meet the needs of endangered children and abandoned orphans by providing love, shelter, support, education and health care.
