Orphans Unlimited

Orphans Unlimited is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization in the US and a Registered Ministry in Zambia; and is presently registering as an NGO (Non Government Organization) in England and Mozambique. O.U. has worked in Africa since 1993, under the leadership of Founder Brenda Lange.  Brenda is a registered nurse with expertise in ICU, pediatrics, and nutrition. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from Texas A and M. After 2 years of extensive “on the job training” at another orphanage in Mozambique, Brenda moved to northern Mozambique to care for children where no one else would go. She has built, and oversees two orphanages currently caring for over 450 children (one in Balama, Cabo Delgado and one in Ndola, Zambia), a medical clinic, and a malnutrition centre with job-training facilities for orphans and widows. O.F.’s most recent undertaking is called Operation Rescue – an ambitious plan hatched after a request from the government to provide food and water to over 500 orphans in the Meloco District. Orphans Unlimited has purchased a 6-ton truck, 124 tons of corn and beans, and the government has provided 2.5 acres of land on which to build a rat-proof warehouse, which is currently under construction.
